6 Reasons To Choose Wax Melts & Tarts Over Candles

1. Wax Melts Last Longer Than Candles

There are multiple factors that will effect the burn time of wax melts and candles. The type of wax, the amount and quality of fragrance oil, the size of the wax melt or candle can all affect the burn time. Wax melts and tarts are the aromatic option as they absorb heat slower than candles therefore releasing the fragrance oils without the scent evaporating quickly, as greater heat will burn off the fragrance oils.

2. Wax Melts Are Flame-Free

Fires are commonly caused by candles. The exposed flame poses a risk of something close to the flame catching fire by accident. Wax melts and tarts can be used wihout the need of a flame by use of electric wax warmers. These warmers usually use a small 15-watt light bulb that can heat the wax and release the scent in as little as 5 minutes!

3. Wax Melts Don't Release Chemicals

Candles are often created with paraffin wax. Paraffin is a sludge waste product from the petroleum industry. This sludge contains chemicals that release when burned that can be damaging to our body in various ways. The fumes release are similar to the fumes released from a diesel engine. Candle wicks are also unhealthy as they can often contain heavy metals such as lead. These metals become airborne whist burning the candle and within a couple of hours the levels of airborne heavy metals are much higher than acceptable limits.

4. You Can Control Your Scents

Wax melts and tarts come in small sizes and shapes that you can break apart to add more or less to your warmer depending on your scent sensitivity.  Another benefit is that you can create unique custom fragrance blends by popping 2-3 different fragrant wax melts into your wax melts in your warmer at the same time. Our wax melt tart bars are ideal for this as they are easily split into cubes which give you even amounts. So you could use even amounts of 2 or 3 different scents or you could blend your staple favourite such as coconut or vanilla with a touch of a different fragrance, for example lavender or parma violet by mixing 3 parts (or cubes) of vanilla with 1 part (1 cube) of lavender. If you enjoy experiencing various aroma and don't have a firm favourite wax melts are ideal for you. Candles are generally large commiting you to experience one fragrance. We have a huge selection of fragrances to choose from.

5. Wax Melts Don't Generate Black Soot

Scented candles can create soot which is an incomplete combustion of fuel. The soot is airborne and over time can cause discolouration to your walls and curtains. It can even stain the edges of furniture.  Soot is also very unhealthy. It can aggrevate bronchitis, asthma and respiratory issues. It can also be very dangerous if it enters your bloodstream becoming a possible trigger for a stroke, heart attack or cancer.

6. Wax Melts Generate Less Waste

Glass is one of the longest-lasting man made materials. A glass bottle can take 1 million years to decompose. Wax warmers, with proper care can last 4-6 years, therefore reducing your waste.
